Right to Repair

Convention

We had an absolute blast hosting 3,500 technicians, shop owners, and industry professionals in Las Vegas as part of our record-breaking 2018 Aftermarket Jackpot Convention!

If you were there in Vegas, you remember when we walked together from the Mirage to the Sands Expo & Convention Center for our day at AAPEX. You’ll recall the awesome entertainment, meals, networking, big money giveaways, and excitement of our jackpot event.

And if you weren’t there, don’t worry – we’re ramping up for another exciting convention in 2021, and this time, we’ll be making industry history. In addition to great entertainment, a channel partner expo, trainings and seminars, giveaways, receptions, and meals, we’re also adding a cause that will impact the entire automotive aftermarket. That’s right – the Alliance is heading to Washington, D.C. in 2021 to advocate for the rights of hardworking technicians and shop owners like you.

2020 marked a victorious year for the automotive aftermarket. Massachusetts residents voted overwhelmingly in support of expanding the state’s right to repair, which provides equal access to data in order to ensure technicians have the ability and the right to repair. Without that access, technicians may be unable to acquire the information they need to service vehicles, and customers could be limited in where they can bring their vehicles for repairs. We look forward to continuing these efforts. CLICK HERE for more information.

As consumers, we also support the vehicle owner’s right to their vehicles’ data. We believe in safeguarding our right to choose how our own data is shared. CLICK HERE for details. And CLICK HERE to sign the petition demanding access to your vehicle data.

Finally, we’re working to increase awareness of and adherence to legislation like the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This act protects the rights of consumers to maintain their manufacturer’s warranties when getting repairs completed at independent repair shops. CLICK HERE for a toolkit on this issue.

We’re proud to work together toward an even brighter future for our industry.
