Washington, D.C. named the 2nd best city in the world to visit in 2020
Washington, D.C. — destination of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc.’s 2021 Alliance Takes the Hill Convention — has been named the second best city in the world to visit in 2020.
Travel guide company Lonely Planet recently recognized America’s own capital as one of the top global tourism destinations. The ranking is a testament to the plethora of attractions the city offers such as the Washington Monument, the Library of Congress, and the White House. The stunning cherry blossom season and exotic variety of foods gave the city bonus points.
“Politics aside, Washington’s renaissance is in full bloom, with a revitalized waterfront, celebrated new museums, and an exploding food scene,” Lonely Planet said. “Green roofs, hundreds of newly planted trees, and an innovative floating wetlands system have the city looking greener than ever.”
D.C. was one of only two U.S. cities to make the top-ten list.
